Summit - Dr. P Kelly Hatfield, Republican candidate for Congress representing New Jersey’s Seventh District released this statement following the Middlesex GOP convention at The Forge, in Woodbridge, on Saturday:
“I am proud to have competed so well in Middlesex County,” Hatfield, the runner-up said today after besting 5 other contenders for the county line. “This strong finish is the result of personally visiting 200 + Middlesex households over the course of last two weeks. I had the opportunity to hear directly from the voters about their concerns and discuss the issues in Washington as well as build a great on-the-ground team who will work hard for us in the coming weeks.” Dr. Hatfield indicated that she plans to continue to campaign vigorously in the county taking her message of lower taxes and cutting wasteful government spending directly to the voters.
The Somerset County convention this week will complete the first step in the process with the second step being the June 3rd primary, she said. Dr. Hatfield pointed out that having won the Union County line at that county’s convention earlier this month will give her a an advantage in June as Union County has the largest number of registered Republicans in the 7th District. “I have no doubts that the voters will agree that based on my record of winning elections combined with 15 years of public service that I am the candidate best suited to beat Linda Stender or any other candidate that the Democrats may put up in the fall.”
“I plan to continue to work tirelessly all the way to June 3rd and beyond,” she stated.
A Summit resident, Dr. Hatfield is a proven leader in the fight against wasteful government spending and higher taxes and will be an advocate for all the counties of the Seventh Congressional District as a vocal, visible presence not only in Washington, but here, at home
in New Jersey as well.
